To My Reader

Wishlist Wednesday #15

wishlist-wednesdayI’m astonished by how fast the weeks go by because it’s time for another Wishlist Wednesday already. I can’t complain though. This blog hop was started by the lovely Dani at Pen to Paper and it allows those in the book community to highlight one book they desperately want on their shelf.

My main reason for this week’s pick is the fact that the last book in this series was released and everybody seems to be talking about it. I would appreciate it if I could read this series without any spoilers getting thrown my way.

13455782Title: Shatter Me

Author: Tahereh Mafi

Format: Paperback, First Edition, 340 pages.

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now

I’ve heard so many things about the Shatter Me series and most of it remains good, but I still haven’t picked it up yet. I’m actually happy that I waited this long because now I can marathon the entire thing! I plan on reading the novella’s too because I know they are imperative to understanding certain characters. That’s what I’ve been told. For those of you that are unaware, Tahereh Mafi and her husband Ransom Riggs have started making Youtube videos and I can’t even begin to tell you how genuine they are. Watch them here. – I’m going to make it a 2014 goal to start this series and finish it. If you’ve read any of these books, please let me know what you thought. (without spoilers) Thank you.

What are you wishing for this Wednesday? Share it below.
